Jonathan Parker is a British artist born in Belfast (1968), who lives and works in London with his wife and family.
He makes portraits and fine art compositions that combine figure, interior and landscape.
Educated at King's College School, Wimbledon, London (1982-86) and Camberwell School of Art, London (1987), he then lived and painted in Zaragoza, Spain (1988/89) and undertook a screen print apprenticeship at the Taller Rene Portocarrero in Havana (1991). He graduated from Newcastle Polytechnic (now Northumbria University) in 1992 with a degree in Fine Art and won the Royal Academy Richard Ford Award in the same year. He has had a studio in London since 1993 where he painted his first portrait commission for the National Trust in 1994. There are thirteen of his artworks* in the UK’s
National Art Collection.
